Cloudy skies, rains expected as PH celebrates Chinese New Year
The Northeast Monsoon and the easterlies will bring cloudy skies and rains to different parts of the country as it marks the Chinese New Year on Tuesday, the state weather bureau said.
In its 4 a.m. public weather forecast, PAGASA said the Amihan is affecting Extreme Northern Luzon while the easterlies are affecting the rest of the country.
Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the Ilocos Region will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon.
Meanwhile, the easterlies will cause partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms in areas affected by the easterlies.
The state weather bureau added that there are no low pressure areas (LPAs) being monitored so far for possible tropical cyclone formation.
Extreme Northern Luzon will experience moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal water conditions, while the rest of the country will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal water conditions.
