Shear line, amihan to bring cloudy skies, scattered rains over parts of PH

The Shear Line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over the eastern section of Mindanao while the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) will be affecting Luzon and Visayas on Thursday, PAGASA reported.

As of 2 a.m., the weather bureau reported that there are no Low Pressure Areas (LPA) being monitored for Tropical Cyclone Formation.

Forecast Weather Conditions

Caraga, Davao Region, Northern Mindanao, SOCCKSKARGEN, Eastern Samar, Samar, Biliran, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Cebu, Bohol, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the Shear Line. Flash floods or landslides may occur in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Aurora, and Quezon will have cloudy skies with light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon but this will have no significant impact.

The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorm. Flash floods or landslides may occur and this will be due to severe thunderstorms.

Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, and the rest of Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon with no significant impact.

Forecast Wind and Coastal Water Conditions

The wind speed forecast for Luzon and the eastern section of the country is moderate to strong and moving Northeastward with moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of country will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the Northeast to East direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
