Shear Line, Amihan to bring scattered rains over parts of PH
The Shear Line will be affecting the eastern section of Mindanao, while the Northeast Monsoon (amihan) will affect Luzon and Visayas on Friday, PAGASA reported.
As of 2 a.m., no Low Pressure Areas (LPA) are being monitored for Tropical Cyclone Formation.
Forecast Weather Conditions
Caraga, Davao Region, Northern Mindanao, SOCCKSKARGEN, Eastern Samar, Samar, Biliran, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Cebu, Bohol, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the Shear Line. Flash floods and landslides may occur in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Aurora, Quezon will have cloudy skies with light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon but this will have no significant impact.
The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. There may be flash floods and landslides in these areas due to severe thunderstorms.
Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, and the rest of the Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains brought about by the Northeast Monsoon but this will have no significant impact.
Forecast Wind and Coastal Water Conditions
The wind speed forecast for Luzon and the eastern section of Visayas is moderate to strong ad moving Northeastward with moderate to rough coastal waters.
The rest of country will exprience light to moderate wind speed moving in the Northeast to East direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
