Easterlies to bring isolated rains across PH — PAGASA

The entire country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the next 24 hours due to prevailing easterlies, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Sunday.

In its 4 a.m. public weather forecast, PAGASA said the easterlies—warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean—are affecting Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

While generally fair weather is expected, localized thunderstorms may trigger possible flash floods or landslides, particularly during severe thunderstorms, according to the weather bureau.

Wind conditions in Northern Luzon will be light to moderate, blowing from the northeast to southeast, with slight to moderate coastal waters ranging from 0.8 to 2.5 meters.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate northeast winds, with slight to moderate seas measuring 0.6 to 2.5 meters.

PAGASA recorded a high of 32.0°C at 2 p.m. Saturday at its Science Garden station in Diliman, Quezon City, while the temperature dipped to a low of 23.4°C at 6:30 a.m.

Sunrise in Metro Manila on Sunday was at 6:13 a.m., while sunset is expected at 6:04 p.m.—MCG, GMA Integrated News
