Easterlies, Amihan to bring rain over parts of PH

Several areas in the country will continue to experience rain in the next 24 hours due to the easterlies and Northeast Monsoon (Amihan), PAGASA said Monday afternoon.

In its 4 p.m. weather forecast, the state weather bureau said partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will persist in Metro Manila and the rest of the country due to the easterlies.

PAGASA warned that the severe thunderstorms may trigger flash floods and landslides.

Meanwhile, the Amihan will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains in Batanes, but with no significant impact.

State meteorologists also said winds will be moderate to strong, while coastal waters will be moderate to rough in extreme Luzon.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 6:12 a.m. on Tuesday. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
