Scattered rains over parts of PH due to amihan, trough of LPA

The Northeast Monsoon (amihan) wiill be affecting Luzon while the Trough of a Low Pressure Area (LPA) affecting Visayas and Mindanao, PAGASA reported.

As of 2 a.m., a Low Pressure Area (LPA 03a) is being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility and has a high chance of developing into a Tropical Depression within the next 24 hours.

Forecast Weather Conditions

Visayas, Mindanao, and Masbate will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms brought about by the Trough of the LPA. Flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Quezon, and the rest of Bicol Region will have cloudy skies with light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon but this will have no significant impact.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon with no significant impact.

Forecast Wind and Coastal Water Conditions

The wind speed forecast for Northern Luzon and the eastern sections of Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, and Visayas is moderate to strong and moving northeastward with moderate to rough coastal waters.

The eastern section of Mindanao will experience moderate to strong wind speed moving in the northeast to north direction with moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the northeast to north direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
