TS Nuri outside PAR weakens into tropical depression

State weather bureau PAGASA said Tropical Storm Nuri outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) has weakened into a tropical depression on Thursday morning.
“As of 8:00 AM today, 12 March 2026, Tropical Storm ‘NURI’ has weakened into a Tropical Depression and is being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR),” PAGASA said in a 24-hour tropical cyclone formation outlook issued at 10 a.m.
Nuri was last spotted 1,365 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas, packing maximum sustained winds of 55 km per hour (kph) and gusts of up to 70 kph
The tropical depression was moving southward at 10 kph.
