Amihan to bring cloudy skies, light rains over Luzon, Visayas
The Northeast Monsoon (amihan) will bring cloudy skies with light rains over some areas in Luzon and Visayas on Friday, PAGASA reported.
As of 3 a.m., the state weather bureau reported that the Tropical Cyclone outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) - Tropical Depression Nuri - is located at 1,580 kilometers east of Northeastern Mindanao packing maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 55 km/h, and moving east southeastward at the speed of 10 km/h.
Forecast Weather Conditions
Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Aurora, Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Catanduanes will have cloudy skies with light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon but this will have no significant impact.
Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, Visayas, Caraga, Zamboanga Peninsula, and Northern Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains also due to the Northeast Monsoon with no significant impact
The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.
Forecast Wind and Coastal Water Conditions
The wind speed forecast for northern and western sections of Northern Luzon is moderate to strong and moving northeast with moderate to rough coastal waters.
The eastern sections of the country will experience moderate to strong wind speed moving in the northeast to north direction while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
The rest of Luzon and Visayas will experience light to moderate wind speed moving northeastward with slight to moderate coastal waters.
The rest of Mindanao will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the northeast to north direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
