Amihan’s cool weather to persist until Wednesday — PAGASA
Filipinos may still need their fans in the coming days, as the cool temperatures brought by the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) are expected to last only until Wednesday, March 18, the weather bureau PAGASA said Monday.
“Unti-unti nang humihina itong Northeast Monsoon natin at ito’y umiiral na lamang sa Luzon at Visayas,” PAGASA weather specialist Chenel Domingue said during the agency’s morning weather forecast.
(The Northeast Monsoon is gradually weakening and is now only affecting Luzon and the Visayas.)
“Inaasahan natin magtatagal itong northeast monsoon sa bansa natin hanggang Wednesday, at pagdating ng Thursday inaasahan natin unti-unti na tayong makakaranas ng init at alinsangan,” she added.
(We expect the Northeast Monsoon to last until Wednesday, and by Thursday, warmer and more humid conditions will gradually return.)
According to PAGASA’s 4 p.m. forecast, Amihan will continue to bring rain over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao, Aurora, Quezon, Metro Manila, Western Visayas, and the rest of Luzon in the next 24 hours.
