The Philippines may see 8 to 16 tropical cyclones between April to September 2026, according to PAGASA.
In a press conference on Wednesday, PAGASA said that the country will see a "gradual increase" of tropical cyclones forming within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) as the months progress.
The forecast of cyclones per month are as follows:
April: 0-1
May: 1-2
June: 1-2
July: 2-4
August: 2-4
September: 2-3
PAGASA earlier shared that normal to above-normal rainfall may be expected across the country in the coming months.
Meanwhile, the state weather bureau advised the public to prepare ahead for the dry season as the country is placed under El Niño watch. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
