Ridge of high pressure area affecting Northern Luzon

The ridge of a high pressure area extending over Northern Luzon is expected to bring generally clear skies over parts of the country on Monday, the state weather bureau said.

In its 4 a.m. public weather forecast, PAGASA said Metro Manila and the rest of the country may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

The ridge of a high pressure area is characterized by a mass of cool, dry air and prevents the formation of cloud bands, lessening the likelihood of rainfall.

PAGASA added that for Northern Luzon and the rest of the country, winds are expected to be light and moderate with slight to moderate seas.
