Heat index in Dumangas, Iloilo reaches 44°C on April 10, 2026

Weather bureau PAGASA logged the highest heat index in the country on Friday in Dumangas, Iloilo.

PAGASA said the heat index in Dumangas stood at 44°C (danger level). This means that heat exhaustion is likely, and prolonged exposure could result in heat stroke. No other area posted a heat index in the danger level (42°C to 51°C).

Dumangas' heat index is expected to drop slightly in the next two days (43°C and 42°C on Saturday and Sunday, respectively).

According to PAGASA, the heat index reflects how hot it actually feels to the human body by combining air temperature and relative humidity.

PAGASA classifies heat index levels into four:

  • 27°C to 32°C (Caution): Fatigue is possible with prolonged exposure
  • 33°C to 41°C (Extreme Caution): Heat cramps and heat exhaustion may occur
  • 42°C to 51°C (Danger): Heat exhaustion is likely, and prolonged exposure may lead to heat stroke
  • 52°C and above (Extreme Danger): Heat stroke is highly likely and considered a medical emergency
