PH to see thunderstorms amid high pressure ridge
Thunderstorms are possible across the country even as the ridge of a high pressure area extends over the eastern section of Northern Luzon, according to PAGASA's early Saturday morning forecast.
PAGASA warned of flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, Severe Tropical Storm Sinlaku picked up strength while remaining almost stationary outside the Philippine Area Responsibility.
At 3 a.m., Sinlaku was located 2,715 km east of northeastern Mindanao, carrying maximum sustained winds of 110 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 135 km/h.
Both winds and coastal water conditions will be moderate in the eastern section of Northern Luzon.
The rest of the country will experience light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas.
