Sinlaku moves slowly; localized thunderstorms to affect PH
Typhoon Sinlaku was moving northward slowly outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the state weather bureau PAGASA said on Saturday afternoon.
At 3 p.m., Sinlaku was located 2,770 kilometers east of northeastern Mindanao with maximum sustained winds of 140 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 170 km/h.
PAGASA said the ridge of high pressure area remains extended over the eastern section of Northern Luzon.
Localized thunderstorms will cause partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms nationwide.
Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, moderate winds and moderate coastal waters may be observed over the eastern section of Northern Luzon.
Light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters may be felt over the rest of the country.
