Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country in the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Sunday.

In its 4 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA said the weather conditions are being influenced by a ridge of a high-pressure area extending over Northern Luzon.

Localized thunderstorms may trigger possible flash floods or landslides, particularly during severe weather episodes.

Meanwhile, PAGASA is monitoring Typhoon Sinlaku, which remains outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) as of 3 a.m.

The typhoon was last located 2,745 kilometers east of northeastern Mindanao, packing maximum sustained winds of 150 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 185 kph. It is moving northward slowly.

Wind and coastal water conditions across the country are expected to remain generally moderate.

Northern Luzon will experience moderate winds from the southeast to south with moderate seas, while the Visayas and the rest of Luzon will have light to moderate winds from the east to northeast.

Mindanao will have light to moderate winds from the northeast to northwest, with slight to moderate coastal waters.

PAGASA also recorded a maximum temperature of 34.3 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 26.4 degrees Celsius at its Science Garden station in Quezon City over the past 24 hours.

Sunrise on Sunday was at 5:45 a.m., while sunset is expected at 6:10 p.m.—MCG, GMA News
