Localized thunderstorms expected to persist across PH

Localized thunderstorms will continue to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country on Wednesday, the state weather bureau PAGASA said on Tuesday.

According to the 24-hour weather forecast issued at 4 p.m., PAGASA warned that the localized thunderstorms may cause flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, Super Typhoon Sinlaku remains outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). As of 3 p.m., the tropical cyclone was monitored 2,620 kilometers east of southeastern Luzon.

It has maximum sustained winds of 185 kilometers per hour (km/h) near the center and gustiness of up to 230 km/h.

Sinlaku was moving west northwestward at 10 km/h, PAGASA added.

The weather bureau said Sinlaku would no longer enter the PAR

Winds will be light to moderate while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

PAGASA also said that sunset in Metro Manila is expected at 6:10 p.m. on Tuesday, while the sun is forecast to rise at 5:43 a.m. on Wednesday. — Vince Angelo Ferreras/VBL, GMA News
