PAGASA: Up to 2 cyclones may enter or form in PAR in May
State weather bureau PAGASA said one to two tropical cyclones may enter or develop inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) in May.
According to an Unang Balita report, PAGASA said the potential cyclones this month may make landfall over Eastern Visayas and move across Southern Luzon, although their tracks may still shift.
It noted that the possible weather disturbances may also change course depending on prevailing atmospheric conditions.
As of Friday, PAGASA said it is not monitoring any tropical cyclone or low pressure area either inside or outside the PAR.
The weather bureau added that the easterlies remain the prevailing weather system affecting the country and will continue to bring rain over parts of the Philippines in the coming days. — Sherilyn Untalan/RSJ, GMA News
