13 areas to have 'danger level' heat index on Saturday, May 2, 2026

Thirteen areas may experience "danger level" heat index on Saturday.

According to PAGASA’s heat index forecast on Friday afternoon, the following areas will have a danger level heat index ranging between 42 °C to 44°C:

44°C

  • Dagupan City, Pangasinan

43°C

  • Sinait, Ilocos Sur
  • Laoag City, Ilocos Norte
  • MMSU, Batac, Ilocos Norte
  • Bacnota, La Union
  • Aparri, Cagayan
  • Virac (Synop), Catanduanes

42°C

  • Tuguegarao City, Cagayan
  • ISU Echague, Isabela
  • TAU Camiling, Tarlac
  • Sangley Point, Cavite City
  • Catarman, Northern Samar
  • Cotabato City, Maguindanao del Norte

Danger level is issued when the heat index in an area is between 42°C to 51°C.

Meanwhile, 61 areas in the country were placed under the "extreme caution" category.

Metro Manila was also placed in extreme caution with a 40°C predicted heat index.

Meanwhile, the lowest heat index is predicted to be at Benguet Radar, Tuba with 22°C.

Heat stroke is imminent in areas under extreme danger, while heat cramps, exhaustion and heat stroke are probable risks under the danger level.

PAGASA advises the public to limit outdoor activity, remain hydrated, and wear fresh clothes to avoid heat-related illnesses.

Forecast

Meanwhile, the easterlies will continue to bring cloudy conditions over several parts of the country.

According to PAGASA’s daily weather forecast on Friday, cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms may be observed over Mindanao and Palawan.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Possible flash floods or landslides may occur in some parts of the country due to said weather conditions.

Light to moderate winds with slight to moderate waters will be felt across the Philippines.
