2 LPAs monitored outside PAR — PAGASA
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Monday said it is monitoring two low pressure areas (LPAs) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
As of 8 a.m., PAGASA said LPA 05a is unlikely to develop into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours. It was last located about 1,350 kilometers east of Northeastern Mindanao.
Meanwhile, LPA 05b has a “medium” chance of developing into a tropical depression within the same period. It was spotted around 2,870 kilometers east of Northeastern Mindanao.
PAGASA said the easterlies will continue to bring cloudy skies and isolated rains over parts of the country.
In its 4 a.m. public weather forecast, the agency said Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), and Palawan will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, also due to the easterlies.
Sunset on Monday is expected at 6:14 p.m.—MCG, GMA News
