Localized thunderstorms bring rains, flooding in Metro Manila, parts of Luzon, Mindanao
Localized thunderstorms brought heavy rains over Metro Manila, parts of Luzon, and Mindanao on Saturday, triggering flooding in several areas, the state weather bureau said.
In a report by Jamie Santos on "24 Oras Weekend" on Sunday, heavy rains on Saturday evening caused gutter-deep flooding in Barangay Manuyo Dos in Las Piñas City, forcing residents to wade through floodwaters.
Similar flooding was reported in parts of Bacoor, while residents in Dagupan experienced a rainy Saturday night that led to flooding in some areas. Floodwaters in Dagupan subsided after more than two hours.
In Senator Ninoy Aquino, persistent afternoon rains caused creeks and rivers to overflow, resulting in flooding. Several pigs had to be rescued after a pig pen was submerged.
Heavy rains also triggered flooding in Datu Abdullah Sangki, where overflowing rivers and creeks inundated portions of the national highway.
