ITCZ to bring rains over southern Mindanao —PAGASA
The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is forecast to dampen the southern portion of Mindanao on Tuesday, the state weather bureau PAGASA said.
According to its 24-hour weather forecast issued at 4 p.m. on Monday, the ITCZ is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, SOCCSKSARGEN, Davao Oriental, and Davao Occidental.
The ITCZ is the area where the winds from the Northern Hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere meet, causing weather disturbances such as low pressure areas and typhoons, said PAGASA.
Meanwhile, the easterlies might bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the Visayas and the rest of Mindanao.
The localized thunderstorms, on the other hand, is expected to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
PAGASA warned of possible landslides due to rains or severe thunderstorms in the said areas.
The maximum temperature recorded, based on data from the PAGASA Weather Station in Science Garden, Diliman, Quezon City, reached 34.0°C at 3:30 p.m., while the minimum dropped to 25.9°C at 5 a.m.
