Habagat to bring rains over parts of northern Luzon

The Southwest Monsoon, or Habagat, is expected to bring rains over the northern portion of Luzon on Friday, the state weather bureau PAGASA said.

According to the 24-hour weather forecast issued at 4 p.m., the Habagat may bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Ilocos Norte, Apayao, Batanes, and Babuyan Islands.

Meanwhile, localized thunderstorms are expected to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms may occur over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to heavy rains or severe thunderstorms in the said areas.

The maximum temperature recorded, based on data from the PAGASA Weather Station in Science Garden, Diliman, Quezon City, reached 34.6°C at 2 p.m., while the minimum dropped to 26.2°C at 5:00 a.m.

Moreover, the sunset is expected at 6:25 p.m. today, while the sunrise on Friday is expected at 5:27 a.m. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/RF, GMA News
