Habagat to bring scattered rains over parts of Luzon, Visayas
The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will bring cloudy skies and scattered rains over Luzon and the Visayas on Friday, PAGASA reported.
The PAGASA is monitoring two weather storms but only the southwest monsoon will have a direct effect on the weather.
As of 3 a.m., Severe Tropical Storm Gardo eastimated at 1,285 kilometers east of extrme Northern Luzon, with maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour, gstiness of up to 115 km/h, and moving north northwestward at 25 km/h.
Tropical Storm Mekkhala (formerly Francisco), which is outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), 830 kilometers northeast of extreme Northern Luzon, with maximum sustained winds of 85 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 105 km/h, and moving north northeastward at the speed of 25km/h.
Forecast weather condition
Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro will have occasional rains due to the southwest monsoon with flashfloods or landslides occurring due to moderate of heavy rains.
Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, CALABARZON, Western Visayas, the rest of Central Luzon, and the rest of MIMAROPA will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon. PAGASA said flash floods or landslides may occur in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
The rest of Luzon and the Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon with the possibility that flash floods and landslides will occur during severe thunderstorms.
Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms with flash floods and landslides possibly occurring during severe thunderstorms.
Forecast wind and coastal waters condition
The wind speed forecast for Northern Luzon is moderate to strong moving southwestward and moderate to rough coastal waters.
Visayas and the rest of Luzon will experience light to moderate wind speed moving southwestward and slight to moderate coastal waters.
The wind speed forecast for Mindanao is light to moderate moving in the south to southwest direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
