LPA inside PAR has 'high' chance of becoming tropical depression —PAGASA

A Low Pressure Area (LPA 06d) inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) now has a high chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours, PAGASA said on Monday.

As of 8 a.m., the LPA was estimated at 390 km east of Guiuan, East Samar.

On Tuesday, heavy rainfall is forecast over Sorsogon, Albay, Masbate, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar, Biliran, Leyte, and Romblon due to the LPA.

The state weather bureau noted that the forecast rainfall may be higher in mountainous and elevated areas, and advised the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices to take all necessary measures to protect life and property. —Lyjah Tiffany Bonzo/KG, GMA News
