Henry outside PAR, monitoring continues says PAGASA

Tropical Depression Henry has exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) late Wednesday evening, PAGASA reported.

According to the 11 p.m. bulletin, Henry was last monitored 470 kilometers west of Bacnotan, La Union. It has maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center, and gustiness of up to 55 kilometers per hour.

PAGASA said the tropical depression is moving northwestward at 30 kilometers per hour.

The state weather bureau said that Henry is forecast to continue moving generally west northwestward throughout the forecast period.

“It will gradually intensify while traversing the West Philippine Sea and may reach tropical storm by tomorrow. Afterwards, it will remain as a tropical storm throughout the rest of the forecast period,” said PAGASA.

Further, PAGASA said the periphery of Henry and the Southwest Monsoon (or Habagat) will bring strong to gale-force gusts over the following areas on Thursday, especially in coastal and upland areas exposed to winds: Batanes, Cagayan, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, and Palawan. — Vince Ferreras/BAP, GMA News
