Typhoon Inday, Habagat to bring cloudy skies, rains over parts of PH
Typhoon Inday and the southwest monsoon (Habagat) will bring rains over parts of the country on Thursday, PAGASA reported.
As of 3 a.m., the center of the eye of Typhoon Inday was estimated at 940 kilometers east of Northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 175 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 215 km/h and moving west northwestward at the speed of 20 km/h.
Forecast Weather Conditions
Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Norte, Aurora, and Catanduanes will have rainsains with gusty winds due to the tropical cyclone Inday. Flash floods or landslides are expected due to moderate to heavy rains while there may be minimal to minor threat to life and property due to strong winds.
Eastern Visayas and the rest of Bicol Region will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to Typhoon Inday as flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, Lanao del Norte, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, and South Cotabato will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon as flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
The rest of Visayas and Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon with the possibility that flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms with flash floods or landslides occurring during severe thunderstorms.
Forecast Wind and Coastal Water Conditions
The eastern section of Luzon will experience moderate to strong wind speed moving in the northwest to west with moderate to rough coastal waters.
The eastern section of the Visayas will have moderate to strong wind speed moving southwestward while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
The wind speed in Mindanao is moderate to strong and moving in the southwest direction as coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
Palawan and the rest of the Visayas will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the west to southwest with slight to moderate. — BAP, GMA News
