LPA outside PAR has low chance of becoming tropical depression in 24 hours
A low pressure area (LPA) located outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility has a low chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours, state weather bureau PAGASA said Sunday.
At 8 a.m., the said LPA was located at 2,005 km east of Eastern Visayas.
PAGASA advised the public to continue monitoring updates it will issue.
Meanwhile, the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continues to bring heavy rains, PAGASA said.
From Sunday up to Monday noon, 50 to 100 mm of rainfall are expected over Ilocos Sur, La Union, Benguet, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, and Antique.
From Monday noon to Tuesday noon, La Union and Pangasinan may have 50 to 100 mm of rainfall.
"Forecast rainfall may be higher in mountainous and elevated areas. Moreover, impacts in some areas may be worsened by significant antecedent rainfall," PAGASA said.
It advised the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned to take the necessary measures to protect life and property. —KG, GMA News
