Cloudy skies, scattered rain expected over Mindanao, western Luzon, Visayas

The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain over Mindanao and the western sections of Luzon and Visayas on Tuesday, PAGASA reported.

As of 2 a.m., a low pressure area (LPA 07d) is being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and has a medium chance to develop into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.

Forecast weather conditions

Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, and BARMM will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon. PAGASA also reported that flash floods or landslides may occur in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, MIMAROPA, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, and the rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon with flash floods or landslides possibly occurring during severe thunderstorms.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms while flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

Forecast wind and coastal water conditions

The wind speed forecast for Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao is light to moderate and moving in the southwest to west direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

The rest of Luzon will experience light to moderate winds moving in the south to southwest direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
