Tropical Storm Kiyapo, Habagat to bring cloudy skies, rain over parts of PH
Tropical Storm Kiyapo and the southwest monsoon (habagat) cloudy skies with scattered rain over parts of the country on Friday, PAGASA reported.
At 3 a.m., the center of Tropical Storm Kiyapo was estimated at 355 kilometers east of Aparri, Cagayan with maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 80 km/h and moving west northwestward at the speed of 30 km/h.
Forecast Weather Conditions
Ilocos Norte, Batanes, and Babuyan Islands will have stormy weather due to Tropical Storm Kiyapo while flash floods or landslides may occur due to heavy to intense with at times torrential rains and minor to moderate threat to life and property due to strong winds.
Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Aurora rains with gusty winds due to Tropical Storm Kiyapo with flash floods or landslides occurring due to moderate to heavy rains with at times intense rains. Minimal to minor threat to life and property due to strong winds
Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, Antique, Iloilo, Guimaras, and Negros Occidental occasional rains due to the southwest monsoon while flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to heavy rains.
Metro Manila, CALABARZON, the rest of Central Luzon, the rest of MIMAROPA, and Pangasinan will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to Tropical Storm Kiyapo with flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains
The rest of the country will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to southwest monsoon with flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains
Forecast Wind and Coastal Water Conditions
The wind speed forecast for Mindanao is moderate to strong moving in the southwest to south direction while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
Visayas and Southern Luzon will experience slight to moderate wind speed moving southwestward with light to moderate coastal waters.
The rest of Luzon experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the northwest to southwest direction while coastal waters will be light to moderate.
