RAINFALL ALERT: Red in parts of Batangas, orange in Zambales Bataan (Monday, 11 p.m.)
PAGASA has raised a red warning over parts of Batangas, warning of serious flooding in flood-prone areas within the next three hours amid the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat.
According to PAGASA's heavy rainfall warning issued at 11 p.m., the following areas in the province were placed under a red warning: Calatagan, Lian, Balayan, Tuy, Calaca, Lemery, Mabini, Tingloy, Batangas City, San Pascual, Bauan, San Luis, Taal, Agoncillo, San Nicolas, Santa Teresita, and Alitagtag.
The orange warning level has been raised over the following areas, and flooding is threatening in flood-prone areas.
- Zambales
- Bataan
- Batangas (Nasugbu, Cuenca, Ibaan, Lobo, San Jose, Taysan, Laurel)
- Cavite (Ternate, Maragondon, Magallanes, Alfonso, General Emilio Aguinaldo).
A yellow warning is in effect for the following areas, where flooding is expected in flood-prone areas.
- Metro Manila
- Rizal
- Cavite (Amadeo, General Trias, Indang, Mendez, Silang, Tagaytay, Trece Martires, Bacoor, Cavite City, Dasmariñas, Gen. Mariano Alvarez, Imus, Kawit, Naic, Noveleta, Rosario, Tanza, Carmona),
- Batangas (Balete, Tanauan, Lipa, Malvar, Mataasnakahoy, Padre Garcia, Rosario, San Juan, Santo Tomas, Talisay),
- Laguna (San Pedro, Biñan, Santa Rosa, Cabuyao, Calamba, Los Baños, Bay, Calauan, Alaminos, San Pablo),
- Quezon (San Antonio, Tiaong),
- Tarlac (San Clemente, Camiling, Mayantoc, San Jose, Capas, Bamban, Santa Ignacia),
- Pampanga (Porac, Floridablanca, Lubao, Mabalacat, Angeles, Masantol, Macabebe, Sasmuan, Guagua, Santa Rita, Minalin, Bacolor, Apalit, Santo Tomas, San Fernando, San Simon, Mexico) and
- Bulacan (Bulakan, Malolos, Calumpit, Paombong, Hagonoy, San Jose del Monte, Santa Maria, Meycauayan, Marilao, Bocaue, Obando, Balagtas, Guiguinto, Plaridel, Pulilan).
Meanwhile, light to moderate rains with occasional heavy rains are affecting the following areas. The rains may persist within three hours and may affect nearby areas.
- Nueva Ecija,
- Tarlac (Concepcion, Anao, Tarlac City, Gerona, La Paz, Paniqui, Pura, Ramos, San Manuel, Victoria, Moncada),
- Pampanga (Arayat, Candaba, Magalang, San Luis, Santa Ana),
- Bulacan (Angat, Baliuag, Bustos, Doña Remedios Trinidad, Norzagaray, Pandi, San Ildefonso, San Miguel, San Rafael),
- Laguna (Liliw, Luisiana, Magdalena, Majayjay, Nagcarlan, Pagsanjan, Pila, Rizal, Santa Cruz, Victoria, Cavinti, Famy, Kalayaan, Lumban, Mabitac, Paete, Pakil, Pangil, Santa Maria, Siniloan) and
- Quezon (General Nakar, Infanta, Real, Dolores, Candelaria, Sariaya, Lucban, Tayabas, Mauban, Sampaloc, Lucena, Pagbilao, Atimonan)
The public and the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices concerned are advised to MONITOR the weather condition and watch for the next warning to be issued at 2:00 a.m on Tuesday. –NB, GMA News
