A red rainfall warning remained in effect over Zambales, Bataan, and three other areas as of Saturday evening. Meanwhile, Metro Manila was under an orange rainfall warning, along with six other areas in Luzon.

In its 11 p.m. advisory, PAGASA raised red, orange, and yellow rainfall warnings over the following areas:

A second bridge in Tarlac City collapsed within a day as heavy rains from the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continued to batter the province, authorities said Saturday night.

The Agana Bridge in Barangay Tibag collapsed at around 8:32 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, according to a report from the Tarlac City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

The collapse occurred a day after a portion of the Aquino Bridge in Tarlac City gave way amid continuous rains and strong river currents. The Aquino Bridge was subsequently closed to traffic.

A gray Toyota Avanza carrying five people fell into the Tarlac River when the structure collapsed, the incident report said.

The five occupants were composed of three males and two females.

In an update, the Tarlac City Information Office reported that one of the five passengers in the vehicle had been rescued, while the search continued for the remaining four.

Two men were killed and two others were injured in a landslide at the Subic Bay Freeport Zone in Subic, Zambales, on Saturday morning amid continuous heavy rains.

In a Super Radyo dzBB report by Luisito Santos, Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Corporate Affairs Department Manager Armie Llamas said the fatalities were a Chinese national and a Filipino.

The two injured victims were both Filipinos. One has already been discharged from the hospital.

The SBMA’s initial investigation found that the incident occurred at the Tipo High-Tech Park at around 10:45 a.m.

Following the landslide, the Philippine Red Cross said it mobilized emergency response teams to conduct an on-site assessment and provide immediate assistance as needed.

The SBMA said a retaining wall in the area collapsed before the landslide occurred.

The agency is investigating the cause of the retaining wall’s collapse and assured the public that measures will be taken to prevent a similar incident.

The Quezon City government on Saturday will implement forced evacuations in several areas amid the intensified Southwest Monsoon rains.

In a Facebook post, the local government unit (LGU) said that as of 3:30 p.m., the forced evacuation will be in places that are flood-prone or near slopes.

The Southwest Monsoon, or Habagat, will continue to bring rains over Luzon and Visayas on Sunday, August 30, 2026, according to PAGASA.

In its 4 p.m. bulletin on Saturday, PAGASA said monsoon rains are expected in Metro Manila, Ilocos Sur, Pangasinan, La Union, Benguet, Bataan, Zambales, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, and Cavite.

Habagat is also expected to bring occasional rains over Ilocos Norte, Abra, Apayao, Kalinga, Ifugao, Mountain Province, Nueva Vizcaya, Nueva Ecija, Laguna, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, and Oriental Mindoro.

Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms are forecast over the rest of Luzon, Western Visayas, and Negros Island Region. The rest of Visayas is expected to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, in Mindanao, localized thunderstorms are expected to affect the region, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. 

All hospitals owned and operated by the Manila City government were placed under Code White status as of Saturday as heavy rains hit Metro Manila because of the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

“All hospitals owned and operated by the Manila City government have been placed under Code White Alert,” Manila OIC-City Health Officer Dr. Grace Padilla reported to Mayor Francisco "Isko" Moreno Domagoso, according to the Manila Public Information Office (PIO) in a Facebook post.

A Code White Alert places medical personnel, emergency response teams, and operations centers on 24/7 standby to ensure their immediate deployment in case of emergencies.

The following Manila hospitals are currently under Code White:

• Gat Andres Bonifacio Medical Center (District 1)
• Ospital ng Tondo (District 2)
• Justice Jose Abad Santos General Hospital (District 3)
• Mayor Ramon Bagatsing General Hospital
• formerly Ospital ng Sampaloc (District 4)
• Ospital ng Maynila Medical Center (District 5)
• Sta. Ana Hospital (District 6)

“Manila’s evacuation centers, district welfare offices, and health centers also remain on high alert under directives from the Mayor as the city continues to grapple with the ongoing downpour,” the Manila PIO said.

Parts of Metro Manila got flooded on Saturday due to heavy rains from the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

Quezon City

In Quezon City, the flood was already waist-deep on Sto. Domingo Avenue between Atok and Calamba Streets, making the area no longer passable to vehicles as of 1:12 p.m., according to a report by GMA News' Bernadette Reyes.

A portion of Regalado Highway in Barangay North Fairview was also not passable to small vehicles due to flooding as of 12:24 p.m., according to Luisito Santos of Super Radyo dzBB.

It was nearly zero visibility meanwhile on Commonwealth Avenue around 12 noon due to the heavy rains.

Parañaque City

In San Antonio Valley 2 in Barangay San Isidro, Parañaque City, the flood exceeded a man's height on Saturday morning, according to GMA News reporter JP Soriano.

The floodwaters receded slightly by noon, but flooding persists.

Manila

The Manila Public Information Office meanwhile reported that as of 12:44 p.m., gutter-deep flood was observed on Antipolo Street corner Jose Abad Santos Street in Tondo.

Las Piñas City

At Zapote Junction and Alido Bridge in Las Piñas City, the Department of Public Works and Highways deployed mobile pumps to quickly drain flooding in the area on Saturday morning.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and local government units have issued a list of roads affected by flooding on Saturday. —KG, GMA News

Several classes for August 29, 2026 have been suspended due to the bad weather.

The state weather bureau advised the public and concerned Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices to monitor the weather conditions and watch for the next warning to be issued at 5:00 p.m.
