Angelica Ferrer Dator, a Catanauan, Quezon native who graduated magna cum laude at the Lucban-based Southern Luzon State University (SLSU), emerged as the solo topnotcher in the recently announced May 2025 Philippine Nurses Licensure Examination (PNLE).

Dator top-scored the board exams with a 90.00% rating.

According to a congratulatory social media post by Catanauan, Quezon Mayor-Elect Ramon Orfanel, the SLSU topnotcher hails from the municipality’s Barangay 07 (Poblacion), and the “daughter of Mr. Salvador Moran Dator and Mrs. Angelina Ferrer Dator.”

The Facebook post also mentioned Dator’s academic feat as a magna cum laude graduate at SLSU– one of the country’s top nursing schools.

Her alma mater, by and large, also achieved high in the May 2025 PNLE, topping the list of top-performing schools with 50 to 99 examinees (tied with Eastern Samar State University-Borongan and Universidad de Zamboanga-Pagadian).

SLSU saw all of its 77 graduate-takers pass the exam for a perfect passing rate.

According to PRC, 6,935 out of 10,770 takers passed the nursing boards, good for a 64.39% national success rate.
