Gabbi Garcia is “forever a proud, homegrown Kapuso!”

The Kapuso It Girl renewed her ties with GMA Network after signing a new contract with the media giant on Friday, May 23.

The momentous event was attended by GMA Network President and Chief Executive Officer Gilberto Duavit Jr.; Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Felipe S. Yalong; GMA Network Senior Vice President for Programming, Talent Management, Worldwide and Support Group and President of GMA Films Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes; and Sparkle GMA Artist Center First Vice President Joy Marcelo.

Other network executives also present were GMA Vice President and Head for Corporate Affairs and Communications Angel Javier-Cruz, Vice President for Musical Variety, Specials, and Alternative Productions for Entertainment Group Gigi Santiago-Lara, and Senior Vice President for Corporate Strategic Planning and Business Development, Chief Risk Officer, and Head of Program Support Regie C. Bautista.

Gabbi’s parents Vince and Tes Lopez, and her boyfriend, Kapuso actor Khalil Ramos, along with some friends in the creative industry, were also in attendance to show support.

The 26-year-old Sang’gre star received nothing but words of admiration from the network executives.

“Looking back at just a little over 10 years, and how quickly time has passed and how quickly you have risen from the time you started, your achievements speak for themselves. From acting, hosting, all leading up to the great trust not only the viewing public has in you, but also important and big brands,” GMA Network President and CEO Gilberto Duavit Jr.

“You (Gabbi) are a success story. Gabbi is an example of living the dream,” he added.

“I've seen Gabbi through the ups and tumbles, and I can say that she is someone not only full of talent but with a pure heart… She gives her all, that’s why we’ve never stopped being with her,” shared First VP for Sparkle Joy Marcelo in an emotional message.

Gabbi’s message was just as, if not more heartfelt, turning emotional as she reminisced about her career beginnings with the network.

“When I was younger I often got rejected in auditions and VTRs. But GMA was one of the few ones who embraced me, who welcomed me and accepted me, and saw something in me. Tumaya sila sa akin without even knowing what I have to offer. That was 11 years ago,” she recalled.

“Cut to this day, GMA is my home. GMA is my second family. I thank you for giving me this opportunity to remain a loyal Kapuso,” she added.

Gabbi also gave special thanks to her Sparkle family.

“My sparkle management– they're not just a management-artist relationship, they are a family. I have ‘moms’ in Sparkle, Ms. Joy (Marcelo), since day one you know that. Ms. Jan (Navarro). Ms Annette (Gozon-Valdes), thank you very much.”
