Celebri-peeps Baus Rufo and Joy Barcoma have been a legitimate morning duo as of late.

Since joining the roster of “Unang Hirit” hosts, their contagious humor is all over the top-rated morning show, facial expressions turned into memes, street interview quips are instant sound bites.

From a podcast room to a mainstream TV studio, Baus and Joy’s secret isn’t so much the script. It’s their genuine enjoyment working alongside each other.

“I love it so much!” exclaimed Baus, 35, when asked during a pocket interview how it feels to be jiving with Joy, “I am in my mid-30s, [Joy] is significantly younger than I am, so as somebody who is older, it is nice to know I am just meeting some of the most exciting collaborators I have.”

The Dogshow Divas podcast host is optimistic that partnerships like this is an indication of a more productive path ahead.

“I say this because growing up we were told maybe in your 30’s, you need to settle down parts of your life, but I’d like to believe that my best collabs, my most exciting projects, the friends I am gonna make– the best are yet to come,” Baus added.

As for Joy, partnering with Baus is simply a “blessing.”

“It is a blessing that we found this kind of partnership with Baus, especially with the opportunity na nakukuha namin ngayon, because it is rare to find a friend in the industry, to find a person you can really get along with,” the 27-year-old outgoing Miss World Philippines titleholder shared.

She also recalled the fun and easy experience during her first ever guest appearance on the Dogshow Divas podcast – a popular comedy and pop culture pod Baus co-hosts with content creator Macoy Dubs.

“Nung nag-guest ako sa Dogshow Divas, tapos nag-click sya, it was a surprise to us!” shared Joy, who eventually served as the podcast’s substitute host for a time, “hindi namin akalain na ganon sya ka-warm tatanggapin ng mga tao, yung first episode that we shot kaming tatlo, it was a breeze lang, it was the first time we met each other so when we did it everything was new to us, first time namin mag meet and mag-bond, and nag-click kaagad siya.”

Baus and Joy five years back probably would have never imagined that they would end up being workmates, let alone co-hosts in two GMA Network programs.

Baus worked in corporate before transitioning to content creation. Joy is a pageant veteran who was loved easily by netizens not only for her passionate advocacies but her feel-good humor.

Needless to say, both found success expressing themselves in the digital world. And now they’re co-hosts in The People Have Spoken, and Unang Hirit.

“Me meeting Joy Barcoma, working with her, I can confidently say she’s a friend of mine, it’s nice to know that there are still amazing people out there to meet and embrace you,” Baus said of Joy.
