A fire broke out at an oil mill in Barangay Domot, Lucena City, Quezon on May 2, 2024, with damages pegged up to P25 million.

According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the fire reached the third alarm due to the rapid spread of flames, fueled in part by coconut residue used in oil production.

Rodel Nota, City Fire Marshal, said.

Neighboring fire stations also provided assistance, with 12 fire trucks working together to extinguish the blaze.

Firefighters had to utilize Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF), a type of chemical used in fuel fires.

The fire was put out after nearly six hours.

No injuries were reported.

The managememt of the oil mill have not released a statement yet, as of this writing.

Authorities continue to remind the public to exercise caution.
