The Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) in Dagupan City, Pangasinan has announced a new traffic rerouting scheme as road construction continues in the area, which is expected to last for 10 days.
Road repairs have commenced at the approach of Quintos Bridge on AB Fernandez Avenue in Dagupan City, with approximately 100 meters of roadway being fixed.
As a result, what used to be a four-lane road has now been reduced to two lanes, causing significant traffic slowdowns in the area reportedly.
To mitigate the congestion, POSO has redirected the routes of some passenger jeepneys temporarily, avoiding the construction area.
“Huwag muna nating patuluyin dito sa may part ng Nable ang mga biyaheng Lingayen, temporary route po natin ay sa Rizal,” Rexon de Vera, Deputy Chief, POSO-Dagupan City, said.
This has affected commuters traveling to destinations such as Manaoag, San Fabian, Mangaldan, San Jacinto, and Lingayen, leading to confusion among some passengers.
“Wala na pong dumadaan na San Fabian dito [sa may saamin],” Renan de Guzman, a commuter, said.
Additional POSO personnel have been deployed to oversee the temporary rerouting.
