The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) in Pangasinan has received three special action cases seeking to declare three aspirants as nuisance candidates for the 2025 national and local elections.

One of these petitions has already been decided.

"Mayroon kasing tatlong petition, ‘yung isa may decision na pero hindi pa natin pwedeng sabihin kasi baka hindi pa nasabihan ang party," Atty. Ericson Oganiza, Pangasinan Provincial Election Supervisor, said.

"Mga kalaban nila sa politika ang nag-file ng petition," Oganiza added.

If an aspirant is declared a nuisance candidate, he or she will be removed from the official list of candidates.

However, according to COMELEC, the aspirant may appeal to the Supreme Court if he or she disagrees with the decision.

The name will remain on the official ballot, but if the Supreme Court upholds the COMELEC’s decision, any vote for the nuisance candidate will be deemed invalid or be classified as a stray vote.

Meanwhile, before the end of 2024, policemen in Pampanga will be reshuffled for new assignments.

"Lahat ng personnel na may kamag-anak up to fourth degree na tumatakbo for election ay ililipat natin," PCOL. Rollyfer Capoquian, PD, Pangasinan PPO, said.
