A 24-year-old woman died after a 10-wheeler truck hit the motorcycle she was riding in Upper Puerto, Cagayan de Oro City.

The woman was heading home from work when the accident happened.

Based on investigation, the motorcycle allegedly encroached the lane of the truck, which resulted in the collision.

“So, mao to siya, nibalik siya sa travelling lane didto siya naka-encroach na nuon sa truck, mao to didto gyud siya nasulod sa may ligid nga portion,” Traffic Enforcement Unit-Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (TEU-COCPO) Investigator, Patrolman Jay-ar Caiña, said.

Because of the impact, the woman was pinned under the truck. She did not reach the hospital alive.

The truck driver turned himself in to authorities.

“Mangayo ko og pasaylo saon man gyud naatlan gyud, wala man ta kabalo gud kung kanus-a maabot ang disgrasya,” the truck driver said.

Police said the family of the woman and the company the truck driver works for have reportedly reached an agreement.
