The Department of Education (DepEd) Cagayan de Oro City Division has directed the resumption of face-to-face classes in schools cleared by authorities following several days of suspension due to structural integrity inspections prompted by the powerful earthquakes that struck off the coast of Davao Oriental.
The inspections were conducted by the City Engineering Office, the Office of the Building Official, and DepEd to ensure the safety of school facilities.
DepEd-CDO Division said normal operations have gradually resumed in 68 schools across the city.
Blanco added that inspections have been completed in schools located in the city proper, including those with high-rise buildings. Assessment showed that no structural damages were found following the recent tremors.
DepEd-CDO Division urged school DRRM coordinators to submit initial assessments to determine whether further inspections are necessary for their campuses.
Hinuon naghatag man ta ug alternative delivery mode pero lahi man gyud ang epekto sa face-to-face,” Blanco said.
DepEd-CDO Division expects that by Friday, around 125 public schools in the city will have resumed their face-to-face classes.
