Authorities arrested three people with suspected shabu worth around P47.6 million during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Divisoria, Zamboanga City.
The suspects were identified as a 43-year-old man from Jolo, Sulu; a 47-year-old man from Zamboanga City; and a 32-year-old woman from Sulu.
All suspects were considered as newly identified high value individuals (HVI) in the illegal drug trade.
Confiscated from the suspects were seven kilos of suspected shabu.
The suspects are now detained and will face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (RA 9165).
“This successful operation highlights our intensified and intelligence-driven approach in combating illegal drugs. The substantial volume of shabu seized is a significant blow to drug syndicates and a decisive step in protecting our communities from the harmful effects of illegal substances. PRO 9 remains firm in its commitment to pursue all individuals involved in the drug trade and to sustain aggressive operations across the region,” Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Director, Brigadier General Edwin Quilates, said.
