The local government of New Bataan, Davao de Oro has condemned the improper disposal of medical waste along the Magangit-Camanlangan Highway on Monday, April 27, 2026.

According to a report by GMA Super Radyo Davao, the waste reportedly came from a dialysis center, based on a social media post of Mayor Bianca Cualing-Brua.

The mayor expressed concern that the incident poses a serious threat to public health, safety, and environment.

She said such negligence cannot be tolerated.

The local government warned all healthcare facilities including service providers to comply with proper medical waste management standards.

Authorities are also set to file administrative, criminal, and civil charges against those responsible for the incident.

The local government is now coordinating with the police and the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office to conduct a thorough investigation and identify the persons accountable.
