Authorities have identified four persons of interest (POIs) in the killing of a public school district supervisor in Alicia, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Based on investigation conducted by the police, the killing may have something to do with the victim’s work.

It can be recalled that the 45-year-old victim, Rey Camaingking, district supervisor of the Olutanga District, was found lifeless and covered in blood while clutching his bag in Sitio Guicam, Barangay Dawa-Dawa on April 30, 2026.

Police said the victim was reportedly on his way home after attending a school activity when motorcycle riding suspects shot him.

The Department of Education (DepEd) condemned the killing and called for justice.

“During sa conduct of investigation is sa trabaho. We have four POI. Ongoing pa ang case build-up para makonek nga kani gyud sila mao ang tanang POI,” Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office Spokesperson, Lt. Gina Magnaye, said.
