At least 25 houses were razed to the ground after a fire hit a residential area in Ramonal Village, Barangay Camaman-an, Cagayan de Oro City evening on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.

The fire broke out around 10 p.m. and was raised to the third alarm.

The fire spread quickly and was put out around 2 a.m. the next day.

“Kay paglantaw nako sa sunog gikan didto sa (pikas balay) padulong sa terrace murag naa ra sa 30 seconds to 1-minute lang ba ning-ana na dayun ang kalayo unya hangin baya murag nikatay dayun ang kalayo paingon diri,” a resident affected said.

According to the Nazareth Fire Station, the damage was estimated at around P1.2 million.

Several residents were also reported hurt in the incident.

“Ang mga tawo sab kinahanglan sab mi sa ilang panabang labi na bitaw kaning gitawag namo nga bucket relay kana siya applicable kayo na diha sa mga panimalay para matabangan sab ang kabomberohan nga nagresponde,” Nazareth Fire Station, SFO3 Flaviano Ente Jr., said.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.

Meanwhile, the residents affected are staying temporarily at a daycare center and at the gym in the barangay.
