Authorities seized a firearm and suspected shabu worth around P15.6 million during a buy-bust operation in a subdivision in Barangay Bago Gallera, Davao City evening on Thursday, May 14, 2026.
The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) identified the suspect as alias “Bai” who was tagged as a high value individual (HVI) in the illegal drug trade.
Confiscated during the operation were sachets of suspected shabu worth more than P15 million and a caliber .357 revolver.
“The confiscation of this significant volume of illegal drugs prevented its possible distribution in communities, protecting countless individuals and families from the harmful effects of illegal narcotics,” DCPO said.
The suspect is now detained and will face charges for alleged violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (RA 9165) and Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act (RA 10591).
DCPO vowed to strengthen intelligence-driven operation, intensify police visibility, and sustain anti-criminality efforts to ensure a safer community.
“This successful operation demonstrates the unwavering dedication of the DCPO in dismantling illegal drug networks and maintaining peace and order in Davao City. It sends a strong message that law enforcement authorities remain vigilant and relentless in pursuing individuals involved in the illegal drug trade, especially those who threaten the safety and future of the Davaoeños,” DCPO added.
