A cow was found with stabbed wounds in the stomach in Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur.
Residents who were herding the cow found food spilling from its stomach at a farm in Barangay Santo Rosario.
The cow, which was estimated to be worth around P40,000 was sold immediately even for only P18,000.
According to the owner, no one saw who stabbed the animal.
Authorities are considering the possibility that the attack was a prank.
“Gisigi to atiman sa akung papa gipainum og feeds. Siguro, nasuya ang tawo ato sir… walay laing mahimo mao nang gi-ing ana niya ang baka,” the owner, Juvie Suico Erana, said.
A barangay official said similar incidents have been reported in the area.
“Nag-coordinate na mi sa barangay officials kay daghan na pud nahitabo mga silinganan namo ba,” Erana added.
