Up to 20 houses were razed by fire in Palompon, Leyte evening on Monday, May 26, 2026.
The fire broke out at past 8 p.m. in Barangay Ipil and was raised to second alarm.
Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) personnel from the towns of Isabel, Villaba, and Merida helped fight the fire.
The fire was put out after three hours.
No one was reported hurt but the damage to property was pegged at P800,000.
Investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fire, as of this writing.
