A young man died after he was allegedly electrocuted when he fell into a creek where a live wire was submerged during a fire in Barangay Camaman-an, Cagayan de Oro City on Sunday, June 7, 2026.
The fire broke out around 9 a.m. at Adela Compound and was raised to second alarm.
Responders had difficulty reaching the area, especially since the only access route to the fire scene was a narrow path along the creek.
The barangay evacuated the residents affected, prioritizing senior citizens and children.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), more than 20 houses were razed to the ground. The damage to property was estimated at around P600,000.
