The Misamis Oriental General Comprehensive High School (MOGCHS), one of the largest public schools in the province located in Cagayan de Oro City, continues to implement a shifting class schedule due to classroom shortage.

MOGCHS has nearly 8,000 students from Grade 7 up to senior high school.

According to the school principal, the opening day went smoothly despite the earthquake experienced on Monday, June 8, 2026.

Although classrooms were not affected by the tremor, the school continues to face a shortage of classrooms and facilities such as laboratories and training rooms.

Currently, MOGCHS has 104 classrooms but more than 200 sections, forcing them to implement shifting of classes.

The school has already been allocated more than 40 new classrooms, and they are waiting for the project’s implementation.
