Authorities retrieved the body of an eight-year-old boy, one of the two beachgoers reported missing at a resort in Barangay Bawing, General Santos City on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.
According to the Coast Guard District Southeastern Mindanao (CGDSEM), local fishermen told authorities that they had spotted a floating body near GenSan Fishport morning on Wednesday.
CGDSEM deployed a team and located the body at the reported location around five nautical miles from the shoreline of Barangay Tambler.
The remains were brought ashore and were subsequently identified by the family as their relative.
Search and rescue operations for the remaining missing beachgoer continue, as of this writing.
