The Iloilo Doctors Hospital Employees Union has submitted a petition for a wage increase before the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB)-6.

The union wants an additional P250 in the daily minimum wage.

If approved, the daily wage for workers in Western Visayas will become P800 a day from P500 a day.

Earlier, RTWPB junked the wage hike petition filed by the United Labor Alliance Western Visayas because of the group’s failure to comply with requirements.

“On the same content, binago lang ‘yung pangalan, but the same request and application for wage increase in the amount of P800, so P250,” said RTWPB-6 Chairman, Atty. Rodriguez, Jr.

According to the United Labor Alliance Western Visayas, the hospital’s employees’ union was among the first to sign the earlier petition.

“Sila ang nag-file o nag-refile ng petition na ito na inihain rin ng United Labor. Wherein naging signatory rin ang Iloilo Doctors Hospital Employees Union,” said Elmer Forro, Chairman of the United Labor Alliance Western Visayas.

RTWPB is set to convene to evaluate the new petition to determine if what the petitioners are asking for qualify as supervening events.

These supervening events are exceptions to the one-year mandatory period within which RTWPB cannot accept a wage hike request since its last wage order.

RTWPB issued the last wage order on November 17, 2025, which added P33 to P40 to the daily minimum wage for workers in the private sector.
